Last month, we took Gavin to Strong Museum. There is a part in the "Super Hero" exhibit where he could walk across a plexiglass floor. It was quite amusing to watch him - apparently he may be scared of heights! I shouldn't laugh when he is scared, but I think it's really cute how he stays over on the edge.

Story Time!
This video was taken a while back. We had a playdate at the Barnes and Noble's story time. It gets rather crowded there, so we arrived early. I took this video before story time started. He wandered up on the stage and entertained himself with all the kids around.

My own seat!
On the way to Arkansas, Gavin was lucky enough to have his own seat from Chicago to Bentonville. It wasn't a full flight so we moved around a litte bit. He did so well! He sat by himself and watched the portable DVD player (and looked at books with me). It was much more comfortable than having him on my lap the whole time!

Calling Beepa!
We took this video as soon as we got into the hotel while we were in Arkansas looking for our house. Gavin loves telephones. We have to get him one for his playroom!

Let the videos begin
Well - we're going to be without internet for a little while now. Yesterday I was downloading pictures and videos and realized there were quite a few cute videos I hadn't shared, so I'm going to schedule some to post through the next week or so while we're in the process of moving. By April 1 we should be back online from our new home in Bentonville!
On Thursday, Shirley had her teeth cleaning and had to get a tooth removed. That evening, we went to pick her up and Gavin was very excited to see that the PetsHotel was having a playtime with all the dogs. He had so much fun watching! There was a black lab mix in there that he was convinced was Shirley. Now, the only time he ever says Shirley's name is if he's in trouble and has to say 'Sorry, Shirley.' Other than that, he says 'Dogger.' But, when he saw this dog, he repeatedly waved and said, 'Hi, Shirley!' It was so cute. I kept telling him that Shirley was in the doctor's and that it wasn't Shirley, but he didn't believe me! :)

Last Playgroup
St. Patrick's Day was our last playgroup with Mommies Gone Wild. We're going to miss all our friends so much! I took lots of pictures to put in Gavin's photo album of New York friends, but these are my favorites. There are a lot - just be warned!
Gavin was being anti-social since Elliott and Henry have a train table at their house. He loved it! I can't wait for him to get his in Arkansas.
Avery didn't want me to take his picture, but I tricked him! :)
One of our newer friends - Ethan :) Such a big boy!
The youngest of our friends - Sovy is 5 weeks old! How precious! I'm so glad I got a chance to hold her.

Taking the leap
I'm not sure I'm ready to admit this, but our baby boy is growing up! You've heard that he's started climbing out of his crib. He's only gotten out once, but I've watched him attempt it several more times. So, Jarrod finally convinced me to change him to a big boy bed. I was worried that adjusting to a new house would be hard enough for him and I didn't want to throw a new bed into the mix as well. But, I was finally convinced that if it's going to be a big adjustment, we might as well get it all over with at once!
So, when we get to Bentonville, we're going to go out and buy him a twin bed. After talking to other moms, I decided we'd bypass the toddler bed. His crib does convert into a toddler bed, but I don't think it's fair to him to get him used to it and then take it away when we need it for another baby (no....I'm not pregnant. Just thinking ahead....) And even though toddler beds are cute, they just don't get used for long and it made more sense to us to just go to a twin bed.
After searching a lot, we ordered his bedding last night. I liked a lot that I found that were just 'train' related. One set was really cute with cars, trucks, and trains. But, Jarrod really wanted it to be Thomas. Gavin is soooo obsessed with Thomas these days. He doesn't even call Shirley by her name but he knows Thomas, Edward, Percy, and James. And when I showed this to Gavin, he got such a smile on his face.
It won't let me attach just the pictures, so this is what we ordered. If you click on the link, we got him the comforter, sheet set, an adorable 'cuddle' pillow (that I predict will replace Dog Dog), and the fleece throw. We probably don't need the fleece throw, but I loved how it said "Ready, Set, Go!" since Gavin says that a lot.

I've been talking to him about his 'big boy bed' a lot and tell him when we get to the new house, he'll have a big boy bed to sleep in with choo choos! He just smiles, but I don't think he quite gets it. It will probably make for a stressful week full of changes, but fingers crossed that I'm wrong! :)

Check it out!
Thanks, Andrea! If you're in the Rochester area, you have to stop by Melon Bean. Try a Mediterranean Turkey Bagel on Asiago with a Raspberry Cinnamon Latte. (The latte isn't on the menu....just tell her Jen suggested it!) And, of course, check out Journal Jars by Jen while you're there!

Bath time and Silly Faces
Gavin has so much fun when Daddy gives him a bath. It had been a while since I took bath pics, so I grabbed the camera and snapped away. He's just recently started making "funny faces" (the pics near the end with his tongue out and his fingers on his cheeks.) These turned out so cute.
For the new house, we were trying to find some fish artword to hang in his fish themed bathroom, but I think we're going to use some of these instead.

Lunch with the trains
On Sunday, Gavin woke up from his nap and Jarrod had his lunch ready to go. We wanted him to eat so we could go outside and work in the garage. He, on the other had, was doing everything to avoid sitting down to eat. He was carrying Edward and Thomas around, so I finally got an idea. I took the trains, set them on his table and told him they wanted to eat lunch, too. I put a piece of pizza in front of each of them, and he sat down and started eating! :) He didn't eat everything, but enough for mommy and daddy to be satisfied, and the trains enjoyed their lunch as well!

Journal Jars by Jen!
Journal Jars by Jen is up and running ~ well, sort of! :) I was on a roll getting jars done, but then we thought we were moving March 6 so I packed everything up. So, I have lots of jars that are ready for tags once we get unpacked and they'll be posted to my new Etsy site. In the meantime, I took the three that were done to Melon Bean, and Andrea was nice enough to let me display them there and one already sold! Yay!
If you want more info - you can visit my site: http://www.journaljarsbyjen.etsy.com
{But remember that it isn't complete and won't be until after the move!}
Or, email me at JournalJarsbyJen@gmail.com!

Brings back memories
Most of you know that my grandparents lived next door to us pretty much my whole life. Obviously, I have tons of wonderful memories of them. This weekend, I did something with Gavin that brought back memories of them.
We fed the birds! :) Grandma and Grandpa used to have this random block of concrete in their backyard. Sometimes we'd feed the bird there; other times we'd just feed them right out the front or back door. We used to take the end pieces of bread or stale bread and break it up and watch the birds come eat. Something so simple, but has so many great memories related to it. So, since all the snow finally melted off our patio and we heard bird chirping, I decided to feed the birds with Gavin.
He had a great time, and I got cute pictures, but there weren't a lot of birds. Only two or three birds came. And the bread actually lasted until the next day when more birds finally came to eat! But he loved watching them pick up the bread and fly up in the tree next to the patio. They kept going under my car, too, which he thought was pretty funny. I bet Grandma and Grandpa were watching!
