Fun Times Friday

Well, it's Fun Times Friday....so what fun stuff are we doing today? Hmmm.... well, Gavin was up twice last night, and then up for the day at 5:45am, so needless to say, we're a bit sleep deprived. Unfortunately Jarrod had to work today so I'm sure he's exhausted there. I cuddled with Gavin this morning, just trying to get enough energy to get started on the day. Once he was down for his nap at 9:30 (that's what happens when you wake up at 5:45am!) I showered and had a cup of coffee and got started. So...on to the fun stuff. So far today, I have:
  • swept the floors
  • vacuumed
  • ran the dishwasher
  • did two loads of laundry
  • dusted and polished furniture in the bedroom and living room
  • finished addressing Christmas cards and got them stamped
  • gave Gavin a bath and got him dressed for the first time in 48 hours (gotta love pajama days!)
  • got my bag ready for my party tonight

How's that for fun stuff? Now I'm off to make Jarrod some brownies and get dressed for my party. Sorry no cute pictures or anything....I didn't download any new shots. Maybe next time!

Fun Times Friday

I love that Gavin is getting to the age where we can do crafts (minus coloring since crayons still get eaten) and I'm excited to do some baking this holiday season. On Tuesday, we surprised Daddy with some of his favorite holiday treat. Gavin loved helping! I put 3 M&Ms per pretzel, but you can tell which ones he helped with, because they have 5 or 6. :) He was just grabbing handfuls of M&Ms and laying them on the chocolate.

So, how do we make these? Melt white chocolate chips in a double boiler, stirring frequently. Then, take a small spoon to drop the melted chocolate on the pretzels. (I line the pretzels on wax paper first.) Top with M&Ms and let the chocolate harden before removing from the wax paper. Simple and oh so yummy! The perfect combination of salty and sweet.

Fun Times Friday

....in black and white! While Sandy was here visiting, we headed to the park to enjoy the weather. I knew if I got Gavin busy enough, he'd actually leave this hat on. I love it, but he never wears it. It actually didn't match his sweater at all, but that's what's great about black and white, huh? :) Enjoy!

Fun Times Friday

How about some bath time fun for today? I really think these are some of my favorite pictures of Gavin...EVER! Plus, one more reason I love when Jarrod does bath time. He seems to have so much more fun with Daddy and I get to snap pictures! :) This camera takes such great pictures. I love how you can see the water droplets on the shot of his little tush, and how the water looks in the last picture.

Fun Times Friday

I love pumpkin carving time! Jarrod enjoys the carving, but hates gutting them. Call me strange, but I actually enjoy sticking my hand in all that goop :) So, earlier this week we carved pumpkins with Gavin. He's taking after daddy and wanted nothing to do with all the nastiness inside the pumpkin, but he did enjoy picking up the seeds and putting them in the bowl. We used the seeds later in the week for a craft. Here are some pictures we took. His final pumpkin, courtesy of mommy, was a Mickey Mouse pumpkin. I wanted to do something he might recognize, and it was the easiest choice :)

Fun Times Friday

Gavin and I were so excited to see Jen and Andrew last Friday. Jen and I worked together at Shaw, and they were in town with Jen's family for an awards ceremony for her dad. So, on Friday, Gavin and I went to pick up Jen, her husband, and Andrew and we took them for a fun morning at Strong Museum. It was so great to see them and to get the boys together for a playdate. Of course, Sesame Street was a favorite area for both boys. Gotta love Elmo! I just wish we'd had more time so I could have taken them more places. I would have loved to go to The Sandbox and Melon Bean. I didn't edit the pictures yet...so just ignore Gavin's red eyes!
Do you know how hard it is to get two toddlers to sit together and look at the camera at the same time?

Man, those eyes look evil! Guess I should have edited that first!
He even likes fake corn!
I told him to brush the teeth and he brushed his hair instead.

Fun Times Friday

Last weekend, we made a fort with Gavin. Jarrod and I set up blankets while he was in his room reading (well, mostly Jarrod did....he said I didn't know what I was doing!) It only lasted a few minutes, but we had so much fun. The smile on Gavin's face was priceless. We'll definitely be doing more of this. Fun times! What did we do for fun before Gavin was born??? :)

Fun Times Friday

Gavin's quite the climber and quite the daredevil. He is all boy! For a while now, he's been climbing on the couch. Well, he recently learned a new trick, and it's one of his favorite activities now. :) Looks like fun, huh?

(Sorry it's a little dark...we don't have good lighting in the living room.)

Fun Times Friday

When I posted pictures from the Ohio State game earlier this week, I hadn't saved the pictures that my dad and Courtney took on their cameras so for Fun Times Friday, I just wanted to share some more pictures from last weekend. We had such a great time!

These are a few taken while tailgating Enjoying the new puzzle grandma gave me
Grandpa had fun making me fly!
I loved playing with the football with Uncle Tyler

This is a picture of the crowd on our way into the stadium
Me with my dad and Tyler

While we were at the game, my mom, Aunt Sandy, and Briana took Gavin shopping and to see the ducks. Here are a couple of Gavin with his Aunt Briana. :)

Fun times Friday

Gavin now is quite the pro at walking, and we spend a lot of time getting places because he wants to walk by himself. These pictures were taken at Niagara Falls State Park. We spent some time just playing in the grass, and Gavin had such a fun time just walking all over by himself.

Notice his hands in all the pictures. They're always up by his shoulders when he walks so that he can balance! :)
