A couple weeks ago, I made a little sticker chart for Gavin to motivate him to help us pick up his toys more. He already does a pretty good job, but I thought it would be a good way to start rewarding him. So, I made it up to earn small prizes after 5 stickers - a sucker, a trip to the playground, a present, and an ice cream. Jarrod decided we should let him decide where to put the sticker instead of just going in order. Well, it was quite interesting to watch him, because he put his first 5 stickers all in a row by the present. He LOVES getting presents! :)
Of course, I had a sucker ready for him - not a present. So, when I realized he was going to earn a present instead, I had to search my stash for something new I could wrap up. So, what did I find? Crayola Dominoes!
They were a big hit! I show him how to line them up and try to match the colors. He didn't match them himself; he was just worried about lining them up. But, if I'd say, "Look, this one's blue, so we need another one with blue on it to go next," he'd find a blue one for me. When we used them all, he wanted to use them as "tracks" for his trains.
