Cool Mom FAIL!

Last week, we actually had some rain that really cooled things off for a brief period!  It was nice to have an afternoon where I could open the blinds and the living room not turn into a sauna.  So, after Gavin took his nap, I thought I'd be such a cool mom and ask him if he wanted to go down the street to splash in the puddles that were left behind.  In the beginning, he was super excited!

Then, he fell onto his butt and soaked his shorts...

It took me a long time to convince him that it was ok that he was wet and we could still play in the water and we'd change when we got back to the house.  But finally, he started playing happily again... 

But then, he accidentally kicked one of his rain boots off while trying to splash me with water and soaked his sock.  So, we were officially done!  He wasn't very happy with a wet butt and wet feet.  It was fun while it lasted!

NAKED!!! These pictures are a month old now, but I realized I didn't post them yet. We had a nice rain move in last month, and I thought it would be fun to let Gavin run out in it. We were just getting changed for bed, so I opened the door and let him walk out in the yard with me. He loved it a little too much and starting running up the street - naked! So, I moved him to the backyard so he wouldn't be cited for public indecency. :) Once in the backyard, he played for a good half hour in the summer rain. No matter how hard I tried he wouldn't come in. He drew on the door with chalk and "worked" on his toys. It was a lot of fun to watch how happy he was!
