Yes, I'm that person...

....I was taking pics in Sam's Club!  But, I have an excuse.  I'd love to take my camera everywhere with me.  I love seeing the photos Ariana takes of her everyday-life on her blog My Sweet Chaos.  I am, however, so afraid of breaking my camera if I take it everywhere I go.  If I have it with me for some reason, though, I don't like to leave it in the car.  So, on this day, we were out and about with Megan and Kyle and I had my camera since I didn't know what we'd be getting into.  We stopped at Sam's Club, and so I put the camera around my neck and in we went.

It wasn't long before Gavin had found the table of books.  He loves to read!  He pulled a book off the table, sat right down, and started reading.  Of course, I had to snap a photo!
And then after that....he was just too cute not to photograph.
They had these GIANT chairs on display and I really wanted to get a shot of Gavin and Daddy sitting together.  But, any posed picture I want to get doesn't happen with Gavin.  He's so uncooperative when it comes to my picture-taking...just like his Daddy!
I promise St. Louis pics are coming.  I'm not 'caught up' enough that I can start organizing the St. Louis shots.  They'll be up soon!  I'm going to post Tot School this weekend and then St. Louis will be the topic of the week.  :)

Fantasy Flight

Yesterday, Jarrod, Gavin and I joined other Sam's employees and volunteered at Fantasy Flight and Winter Wonderland. Today is the big day, but yesterday was all the prep work. Fantasy Flight and Winter Wonderland, from my understanding, is a program that gives a wonderful Christmas experience to children with life threatening illnesses and/or are underprivileged. The kids get to take a plane ride to "The North Pole" to look for Santa, and then come back to the Wonderland to meet Santa and get a gift. We decorated Christmas trees and wrapped presents yesterday, and Jarrod is working the drink station today while the event is taking place. It was really neat to see all the people there working yesterday. I would love to see all the kids' faces today! Look at all the wrapped toys! They're in bins separated by age so the children get an appropriate toy.

Santa's elves doing all the wrapping!

Sorry for the poor quality of the photos. I forgot to take my camera, but wanted to share some pics with you, so I snapped some on my phone. If you want more info on the event, you can visit www.fantasy-flight.org.

Thankful Thursday

Just a few more weeks for Thankful Thursday! Thanksgiving will be here soon :)

I'm very thankful for the new friendships I've made here in NY. Earlier this week, Danielle came over to watch Gavin for me for a couple hours and I was able to go to library BY MYSELF! Isn't it crazy what excites moms? I was able to look for books alone, and didn't have to reshelve books that Gavin had pulled off from the stroller :) I can't wait to return the favor for her.

Even though Alex and Steph lived in Ohio and we've known them for several years, I'm thankful that I've been able to get to know Steph more now that they, too, have been transferred here to Rochester. We have a lot of fun hanging out on the weekends, and Gavin loves spending time with their kids.

Erin has become my newest scrapbook girlfriend since moving here. I took her shopping for supplies and told her I'd give her a few pointers of how to get started, and now she is making pages that look better than mine! We have fun on Tuesday nights scrapbooking and watching Biggest Loser together.

When I moved to Dayton after college, I missed my college friends so much. But, then I met great friends that I still talk to all the time when I started working. When I moved here, knowing I wouldn't be working, I was worried about how I'd make new friends. But thanks to Sam's Club and Mommies Gone Wild, I've found great friends that I know I'll still keep in touch with even if Sam's moves us again! I'm so thankful for all my friends!
