Last Playgroup

St. Patrick's Day was our last playgroup with Mommies Gone Wild. We're going to miss all our friends so much! I took lots of pictures to put in Gavin's photo album of New York friends, but these are my favorites. There are a lot - just be warned!

Gavin was being anti-social since Elliott and Henry have a train table at their house. He loved it! I can't wait for him to get his in Arkansas.
Avery didn't want me to take his picture, but I tricked him! :) One of our newer friends - Ethan :) Such a big boy!
The youngest of our friends - Sovy is 5 weeks old! How precious! I'm so glad I got a chance to hold her.
Evan is a wild man - I couldn't catch up with him to get his picture.....this was the only one I got.
I got the most pictures of Elliott and Henry. The love getting their pictures taken! How cute are they?

After we played in the basement for a while and had snack, we took the kids outside since it was so beautiful. They loved the sunshine!

Gavin and Antonio - searching for rocks and cars

We will miss you all! Thanks for being so welcoming and such great friends during the 9 months we were New Yorkers!

Fun {Last} Night Out with the {MGW} Girls

Last July, I did one of the smartest things I could've done....I found the Mommies Gone Wild playgroup and joined. It was the best thing I've done here in Rochester for myself and for Gavin. We have had so much fun with our newest friends at playdates and Mommies Night Out events.

On Thursday, I went out for my last Mommies Night Out with some of the girls (there are 18 total in the group). We braved the snowy weather and roads and headed to P.F. Chang's for some yummy dinner, drinks, and dessert. It was a fun time and we had some great adult conversation....something that we usually don't get to have while on playdates at Strong or The Sandbox! :)

I always loved Megan's Senior Quote in her yearbook. (So much so that I used it as the title for a scrapbook I made for her.) "How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard." I felt very lucky to have so many wonderful friends and my amazing family in Ohio, and now I feel extremely lucky that in just 9 months, I've made wonderful friends that make leaving Rochester just as hard! Thank you, Mommies Gone Wild girls, for making my time here so great!

Thankful Thursday

Just a few more weeks for Thankful Thursday! Thanksgiving will be here soon :)

I'm very thankful for the new friendships I've made here in NY. Earlier this week, Danielle came over to watch Gavin for me for a couple hours and I was able to go to library BY MYSELF! Isn't it crazy what excites moms? I was able to look for books alone, and didn't have to reshelve books that Gavin had pulled off from the stroller :) I can't wait to return the favor for her.

Even though Alex and Steph lived in Ohio and we've known them for several years, I'm thankful that I've been able to get to know Steph more now that they, too, have been transferred here to Rochester. We have a lot of fun hanging out on the weekends, and Gavin loves spending time with their kids.

Erin has become my newest scrapbook girlfriend since moving here. I took her shopping for supplies and told her I'd give her a few pointers of how to get started, and now she is making pages that look better than mine! We have fun on Tuesday nights scrapbooking and watching Biggest Loser together.

When I moved to Dayton after college, I missed my college friends so much. But, then I met great friends that I still talk to all the time when I started working. When I moved here, knowing I wouldn't be working, I was worried about how I'd make new friends. But thanks to Sam's Club and Mommies Gone Wild, I've found great friends that I know I'll still keep in touch with even if Sam's moves us again! I'm so thankful for all my friends!

Happy Halloween!

Yesterday, my little skeleton and I headed to Danielle's for the Mommies Gone Wild playgroup Halloween party. Unfortunately, the illnesses going around have hit the playgroup, so we had a lot of kiddos that couldn't make it. But, the few of us that were there had fun. Too bad the kids didn't want to wear their costumes too long. I didn't get many pictures of them with their costumes on. Oh well! Enjoy!

Gavin wearing his borrowed skeleton costume! Thanks, Evan, for letting Gavin wear it. The lion costume was just too scary for him :) Mackenzie the Giraffe
Laurel....little Miss Strawberry Shortcake
Liam the Dog
Ever seen a skeleton ride a tricycle before?
Robbie, the Lion (can't you tell?) rocking it with the guitar!
Evan saying "Cheese!"
Buddies :) Evan and Gavin

We'll be heading over to Alex and Stephanie's tonight for Trick or Treating. The weather isn't supposed to be great at all...rain! So, if it rains, we'll just be hanging out with their kids. Should be a fun night, though. Happy Halloween, everyone!

Thankful Thursday

I am really thankful for Mommies Gone Wild, and organizers Danielle and Shara. When I thought about leaving all my friends and the babies in Ohio to be a stay at home mom in NY, where I didn't know anyone, I worried that I'd be lonely. Thanks to a Parents magazine article, I found out about meetup.com and searched for a playgroup before I even moved here. Lucky for me, I found Mommies Gone Wild! I've found some great friends through the group, and because of all the awesome activities they have planned, I've learned a lot about our new area. Gavin and I have had tons of fun at the museum, parks, Danielle's house, the playground, malls, and other places with the girls and their kids. I know that if I hadn't found these wonderful ladies and this playgroup, I wouldn't be enjoying NY as much. Thanks, Danielle and Shara, for all the time you put into MGW and organizing so many fun things for us to do. As a new mommy in Rochester, I really appreciate it!
