Who knew we could spend over an hour at Home Depot, have a ton of fun, and not spend a single penny? The first Saturday of the month, Home Depot has a kids' workshop. Jarrod's been talking about taking Gavin for a while, but up until September we had swimming on Saturdays. Now that we're free, we headed there. Even though it was supposed to be a Daddy-Son thing, I tagged along to get pictures (of course!)
It was a gorgeous day, and the workshop was set up in the parking lot. Since October is Fire Safety month, that was the theme and Gavin and Daddy built a Fire Boat. Gavin did really well with the hammer and screwdriver. He loves playing with his tools!
Mommy painted it red and white when we got home and added the stickers that they gave us. I didn't take any pics of the final product, but it's really cute. He loves it!
Then, to go along with the theme, there was a firetruck, ambulance, cop car, and a helicopter for the kids to see and explore. He loved the fire truck, but wasn't very interested in the ambulance or police car. The helicopter was starting to take off just as we finished a potty break. It was pretty neat to watch!
He stopped to check out a VERY big dog!
Then we headed inside and looked at all the pumpkins.
He had a great time rearranging their display!
We had a great start to our Saturday! But we were just beginning our fabulous fall family weekend! More photos to come....
Moms and Dads of toddlers and preschoolers - check out the Home Depot near you! The workshops are tons of fun and absolutely free!
