Aaaaa-Chooooo!

Blah.  I absolutely love fall, when the weather starts to cool off, the colors are so beautiful, we start wearing jeans and hoodies and using our oven to bake more.  The mornings are so cool, the Buckeyes are playing football, and pumpkins are everywhere.  BUT.....I HATE seasonal allergies and it really sucks that I can't fully enjoy all those great fall occurrences.  I've actually been doing pretty good this year, so I guess I shouldn't really complain.  This week has been the worst so far, and considering they usually start up for me in mid-August, I guess I should consider myself lucky.  But still, when I'm going through a box of tissues a day, my eyes are so red, watery, and puffy that I can't wear make-up, and my head feels like it's going to explode, it's hard to remember that I should feel lucky.  I'll power through though, and enjoy this weather with my kids.  And I'll be counting down to the first freeze.

Pumpkin Patch

Last year, we hit up the local pumpkin patch and corn maze with our new friends, Amy, Chris, and Lucas.  We've since decided that it's going to be a yearly thing as long as we're all still living here! :)  So, before you look at the pics from this year, take a peek back at what the kiddos looked like last year.

Some of my favorites from 2010...

So, a couple weekends ago, we headed there again, this time with our new 'pumpkins' in tow.  It was a beautiful day, but it felt a bit more like summer than fall!  Quite warm...  We let the boys ride the 'Cow Train' while us mamas and babies stayed back, and then did the petting zoo, the corn maze, and the pumpkin patch.  It was a great fall day, and I look forward to doing it again next year!

Their new addition, Caleb, all ready for the season!

 The perfect pumpkins!
Babies!!!

It's kinda hard to see, but in the picture below, there's a goat all the way at the top.  Everyone started cheering loudly when he started his way up the ramp to the top!  It was kind of funny to watch him come back down.

Leaves!

These pics are long overdue...a few weeks back, I took Gavin to the square to take some pictures on him with the leaves.  We were only there about 10 minutes, because it had rained overnight so they were a bit wet still.  But, he did love playing in them!

These pictures are the perfect example of why I need to learn editing.  I wish the leaves were brighter!  I'm working on it...

Fall weekend

Jarrod was off on Friday, so we were looking forward to a long weekend together, but both him and Gavin have had colds so we didn't enjoy it as much as we would have liked.  Making Jarrod rest is next to impossible, so we were still able to get some things done and get out, but he really should have been sleeping!  We decorated for Christmas (more pics coming later this week) and on Saturday morning we got out and just enjoyed the beautiful scenery.  We put Gavin in a pull-up since we knew he'd fall asleep in the car and just drove around - looking at the beautiful colors of fall and finding some gorgeous houses.  We're about a week past what they consider 'peak' for the colors here, but I was still able to find some great trees to capture.
We saw this buck chasing a doe through a field.  It was pretty neat to watch them both jump over a fence trying to get away.  Jarrod just wished he'd had his bow! :)

I don't know that we'd be able to get back to this house because we have no idea where we were, but this house was gorgeous!  I'd love a house like this someday.

Letchworth in the fall

Warning...lots of pictures coming. *Seems like I always post a lot of pictures, huh? Maybe too many???* Anyway, we visited Letchworth State Park this summer when my family was visiting, and we knew we wanted to go back to see the fall colors. So, we drove down on Sunday and enjoyed a gorgeous, very chilly day there. It was beautiful and Gavin loved the leaves.

Time to go home, Daddy.

He's growing up!

I look at Gavin now and he seems to be losing his "baby-ness." Jarrod looked at me weird when I said that. He just seems to be turning into a little boy...he's not my tiny baby any more :( He walks everywhere now. He says 'up' and I think he's now saying 'cookie' when he sees Cookie Monster. He walks his dirty diapers to the garbage can after I change him and he loves to throw Shirley her treat when she comes in from outside. His hair is getting longer, but it's not long enough for his first haircut. He's just getting bigger!

Here are some pictures from the farm last week. We realized that we're not ready for this cool fall weather! He was not a fan of the wind, and I didn't have a heavy enough jacket for him with a hood. But, we still had fun visiting Springdale Farm with friends Megan and Robbie.
