It's All About Daddy!

We had a great Father's Day here.  Gavin and I went to get donuts for daddy for breakfast and then we packed up Gavin's new fishing pole and took Gavin "fishing" for the first time at a nearby pond.

Gavin wasn't that into it, but we tried.  At one point we walked to a new spot and decided to just try bread instead of Jarrod's lures.  But, Gavin had other ideas - he ate the whole piece of bread while Daddy fished some more.

We fed a few ducks, too.  Jarrod wanted to bring one of them home because it was thinner and limping and the other ducks wouldn't let it get any bread.

And we finished our excursion with a little walk around the pond and played on the playground for a little while.

We did all that in about an hour at the pond.  See - told you Gavin wasn't that  into it! :)

When we got home, we did some work in the house and the yard, and then visited the rec for a little while after nap time.  Daddy and Gavin played basketball while I swam a little.  I love being in the pool while I'm pregnant!

We finished the night with a great dinner at Carino's!

Happy Father's Day, Jarrod!  Next year, you'll have two of them!

How we spent Father's Day

Gavin woke us up around 6, as usual, on Father's Day. I went in to get him and got the gifts that had been hiding under Gavin's bed for the past couple weeks. He carried one into Jarrod and said, "Here you go, Daddy." I told him to tell Jarrod "Happy Father's Day," but he ended up spending the day saying, "Birthday to you, Daddy."

I made breakfast for Jarrod - biscuits and gravy with sausage and coffee. Then we headed to Walmart for some groceries and spent the rest of the day at the house.

It's HOT here in NW Arkansas - temperatures have been in the 90s and are expected to continue to be around 95 for the next 10 days with little chance of rain. So, after Gavin woke up from his nap, we headed out to keep cool in the new pool Mimi and Beepa bought for Gavin.

Shirley has her own pool so her claws don't puncture the inflatable one. :)
After the pool, we grilled out steaks, baked potatoes and corn on the cob and spent some more time playing in the front yard. Gavin and Daddy golfed while I read my book. Then, it was ice cream sandwich time and into the tub for Gavin.
I think we had a great day, and I hope Jarrod thinks so, too. :) Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!

Or as Gavin keeps saying today, "Birthday to you, Daddy!" He's a little confused. :) But, Happy Father's Day to my own Dad; I love you so much, even if I am still afraid to hug you! Here I am in my late 20s and I can't even hug my own dad without the fear of being tickled.

Happy Father's Day, Jarrod. Thank you for being so great with Gavin. He loves seeing you walk through that door every day after your hard day at work and enjoys spending every minute he can with you. You're amazing! We both love you so much!

We had a great time with Mimi, Beepa, TyTy and Ana. Just as the week was ending, Gavin finally figured out that Briana wasn't Tyler. He spent the first few days calling Tyler "Ty Ty" and Briana "Tyler." Again....he was a little confused. But, I have lots of pictures to share this week! By the end of the week you'll see pictures of the family, the safari, the pool and Father's Day photos.
