Time to get these photos from Christmas Eve organized!
It was so nice that Jarrod was off on Christmas Eve. I'm not sure if it's a typical thing, or if the office was just closed since Christmas fell on Saturday, but I'll take it! He got up with Gavin in the morning and the two of them went to Krispy Kreme for a donut date. Gavin was so excited! I think that will be a cute tradition for Daddy and his boy if he is in fact off every Christmas Eve.
While Gavin was napping, Jarrod and I started cooking our Christmas feast. And it was just that...enough food to be considered a feast even though it was just us. :)
When Gavin finally woke up, he watched some of a movie until dinner was ready...
Then we feasted! A delicious ham, mac and cheese with bacon and onion on top, cheesy chive mashed potatoes, pea salad (for me), corn, and rolls!
After dinner, we got Gavin dressed and went to Christmas Eve service with Jarrod's friends from work, Doug and Kim. Gavin did much better that we thought he would considering he'd never been before!
When we got home, it was time for our family picture in front of the tree and then presents!
Of course, I'm the one taking the pictures, so there aren't any of the gifts I opened. Daddy got an iPod with an arm band for him to wear it in while he's running, new wine glasses, and a cool new flashlight that Gavin picked out himself. I got a pedicure foot spa, new tennis shoes, a vest from LL Bean, and a cute little onesie for Baby Hamm that Gavin picked out by himself.
Gavin opened four gifts from Mommy and Daddy - Max and Monty dump trucks that go with the Thomas series, a new tractor book, Thomas jammies, and new shoes.
Then it was time to decorate a few cookies to leave for Santa, and of course, Gavin needed to eat one, too!
After Gavin was snug in his bed, Jarrod and I made the cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning. I love doing things like that together! Then it was off to bed for us....we stayed up til 10 which we hadn't done in a long time!
