Sometimes....you just gotta dance!
It's hard sometimes to keep in focus the fact that my kids won't be little for long. My days with Gavin home with me are numbered. Soon enough, he'll be in school all day, because it is inevitable that he has to grow up. Some days, we're go go go all day; other days we stay in our pajamas most of the day because I'm so busy here getting things done that we don't even take the time to get dressed. But, I can tell when I'm doing too much when Gavin asks me to do something in particular. 'Mom, I really want you to ____.' That's usually my sign that I need to take a break from the cleaning, laundry, organizing, Tastefully Simple business, whiny teething toddler....whatever!...and focus on him. So the other morning, when he asked if we could turn on some music and dance, the sentimental part of me quickly realized that it won't be much longer before asking his mommy to dance is the furthest thing from his mind. And moments like these are the reasons I have my camera with me most of the time. It is moments like this that make me so so thankful for this blog. Because when he's 16 and probably won't want much to do with me, I'll always have these memories. So I quickly stopped whatever it was that I was doing, and like all memory-obsessed mamas would do, I grabbed the camera and set the self timer to take 10 pictures at a time. We blared the music, and we danced. And we danced. And we danced! The pictures are blurry. My head is cut off in most of them. I have on no make-up and I'm sporting my robe and some bed-head. And they.are.perfect. Love these memories...love my kids....love my gig as a stay-at-home-mommy. I am the luckiest.

Life's busy
And I think I'm in a blogging funk. It will pass...but I hate when I'm in a phase like this. Allergy season makes me tired, we're getting closer and closer to Megan's wedding (which means VACATION!), and I don't think I've shared, but we finally got approved for the short sale of our house and closing is this week. It's been an emotionally and financially stressful time, and I'm so ready to just get past it. Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly.
But, I know family checks the blog daily for new pictures, so here are just some random iPhone and instagram photos to share. Enjoy!

Aaaaa-Chooooo!
Blah. I absolutely love fall,
when the weather starts to cool off, the colors are so beautiful, we
start wearing jeans and hoodies and using our oven to bake more. The
mornings are so cool, the Buckeyes are playing football, and pumpkins
are everywhere. BUT.....I HATE seasonal allergies and it really sucks
that I can't fully enjoy all those great fall occurrences. I've
actually been doing pretty good this year, so I guess I shouldn't really
complain. This week has been the worst so far, and considering they
usually start up for me in mid-August, I guess I should consider myself
lucky. But still, when I'm going through a box of tissues a day, my
eyes are so red, watery, and puffy that I can't wear make-up, and my
head feels like it's going to explode, it's hard to remember that I
should feel lucky. I'll power through though, and enjoy this weather
with my kids. And I'll be counting down to the first freeze.

Busted!
LOVE this picture! The other morning, I walked into the living room to find Gavin relaxing on the floor, taking in a little Super Hero Squad....while wearing his sister's pajama pants! Lol!
I quickly sneaked to my room to get my camera and snapped this one picture. He heard my camera, and quickly jumped up to the couch to take them off before I could snap more {which I did...but they aren't exactly public blog appropriate!}
I love this boy so much!

Hope you're not easily offended...
This girl seriously cracks.us.up. She has this thing with her diaper and she's constantly trying to pull it off. But then there are the times that she ends up pulling the diaper down so far that we see the 'baby crack.' It just makes us laugh so much when we see her walking around like a little plumber. Someday, she'll hate me for taking these!

First Day of School
Gavin was really looking
forward to going back to school this year. He talked about missing his
teacher and his friends, especially Rylee, a lot this summer. So, I was
expecting drop off on his first day to be easy, and it was just that.
Of course, he had to have a new backpack!
Me and my loves!
He walked in, hung up his backpack, and was off! Without hesitation, he went right to work, visiting the science center, the blocks, and the sand all in the 10 minutes or so that I stayed, getting things all situated with Miss Linda.
He's growing up so fast!

Riley's 1st Birthday Photos
We finally got Riley's birthday photos back and I had to share! I love them so much.
I realized I'm not posting monthly updates anymore, but I still want to keep track of how she's changing. There are two things about this girl that stand out to anyone that spends time with her....she loves to eat and she is into everything!
She loves to carry things around like a purse, and puts everything on her head or around her neck {belts, her pants, Gavin's boxers...} Just recently, we noticed she's starting to pay attention more to Sesame Street and Elmo, but Gavin was definitely more into it at this age than she is. As is to be expected with a big brother in the house, Riley spends a lot of time playing with cars and trains, making super heroes fly through the air, and making funny noises for Angry Birds.
She copies everything her brother does, and since he's one of the most loving little boys ever, Riley is constantly giving us hugs and kisses, too. It's so cute to watch her blow kisses...she even likes to blow them to random people while we're out and about.
According to Gavin, Riley is our 'mean child.' She definitely has a temper and throws a tantrum if she doesn't get her way. And her nails grow SUPER fast and she is always scratching us!
According to some people, she's a little 'advanced' in the gross motor department....running away from us when she's in trouble, climbing on everything, etc. She loves to dance now, and turns herself in circles until she's dizzy. She's a crazy one!
At one point during my pregnancy, I was upset when Jarrod had decided he didn't want Savannah to be her first name. Now that she's here, I am so glad we didn't name her Savannah. That name just doesn't fit her! She's too wild, crazy, and strong-willed to be a Savannah. Riley girl, we love your amazing personality!
