A Day in My Life

On Friday, I documented what we did all day.  I tried to get as many pictures as I could so you could see a typical day in our life!

Our day started at 5:58am when I heard Gavin screaming from his room that he "needs more ice!"  It was quite a task getting this child to drink more water, which he finally does, but he MUST have ice in the cup!  So, he keeps a cup of water on the shelf behind his bed at bedtime, and apparently wanted more ice before he was even supposed to be awake.
I started coffee for Jarrod and me and then attempted to lay back down....didn't last long.

6:15am: Gavin was awake again.  Needed to potty...I let him get up before his 'light turned green' because Jarrod was getting ready to leave for work.  Gavin pulled out the Lincoln Logs as soon as he got out of his room.

6:22am: Daddy leaves for work
Gavin had a cereal bar and OJ for breakfast while watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and I had a bowl of cereal and coffee while checking my TS reports, email, Facebook, etc.
Cleaned up dishes from breakfast and snuggled with Gav a little.

7:40am: Time for me to shower.  This is what I came out to when I was finished to see if Gavin was ok.
I headed back in to get ready for the day, which takes me a LONG time these days.  I get dressed, and have to sit down.  I put on make up, then have to sit down.  You get the idea...

8:45am: I tell Gavin he has to clean up his mess, and I finish putting away clean dishes from the night before, put in a few Tastefully Simple orders, and then get Gavin dressed.  We're ready to leave the house finally around 9:10am.

9:17am: Gavin gets in his carseat and I quickly cleaned some spots on the back seat that I've been wanting to clean so that I could check that off my pre-baby checklist.

9:35am: We arrived at Academy, where we bought a new water bottle for Jarrod (which Gavin later dropped and cracked...)
9:51am: Got to Walmart for some grocery shopping.

Gavin was a good boy at Walmart (read: stayed in the cart so I didn't have to chase him) so he got to pick out a movie from the Redbox after we left.

I am at this phase in my pregnancy where not much sounds good, especially at lunchtime.  So, I asked Gavin if he wanted to get Chick-fil-A for lunch on our way home, but noooo....he wanted to just go home and have a PB&J.  So, I did what any good mommy would do....

10:57am: I drove through McDonald's drive-thru for me (since G doesn't like McDs.)

11:16am: Arrive home.  Put groceries away and make Gavin lunch, which had changed to just wanting a bagel, not a PB&J.

While he ate, I cleaned the fridge out.  You probably don't notice a difference, but I do...here are the before and after pics.

Then it was nap time, so we went in for a book.

12:21pm: I left Gavin's room
12:34pm: I went in to give him more water (with ice!)
12:45pm: He's finally asleep!  So, I got my coupons and organizer ready and sat my butt on the couch.

1:00pm: Watched 'Make Room for Multiples' while cutting coupons.

1:30pm: Blogged for a little bit...
1:57pm: Time to get off the couch.  Checked the mail, put coupons away, etc...
2:21pm: Gavin wakes up...in a good mood!
We snuggle a bit and then Gavin has his snack and watches a show.

2:45pm: Time for me to clean the bathrooms...another sign I'm nesting considering Jarrod is usually the one to clean the bathrooms!

2:55pm: Jarrod comes home early and surprises us!  He heads out to cut the grass.

3:30pm: We head out with Daddy for a bit.  Gavin plays in the sandbox...

while I (for whatever reason) water flowers.  This heat has destroyed our flowers!  I keep hoping they will bounce back, but it's not happening...

4:20pm: Back inside.  Gavin finishes a craft we started the day before while I reassembled and put away some bottles that were drying after being disinfected the night before.  Daddy comes in while I'm doing that and showers so he can help with dinner.

5:00pm: Jarrod starts the grill and I start the food inside....dinner for the night - BBQ chicken, green beans, and rice.  Dinner takes forever since Gavin didn't want to take his one bite of green beans, so we sat there for a while.

6:15pm: We headed downtown for First Fridays, even though it was brutally hot.  It was very crowded, but we walked around, did some people watching, saw Lucas and his daddy, Mommy had a snow cone (not a very good one I might add...) and Gavin had a chocolate cake lollipop.

7:50pm: We got home, rinsed Gavin off, and he headed to bed.  I attempted one last pic of the two of us while we were reading, but he wasn't cooperating and I look horrible!

8:15pm: A cool shower for me - I felt like a sweaty mess!

8:30pm: Relaxation time for me and Jarrod!  He watched something on TV while I laid on the couch and had cereal and watched my belly move around.

Then I did do a couple lessons in '31 Days to Better Photos' on the computer.

9:15pm: Watched a couple episodes of Friends in bed.

10:00pm: Lights out for Jarrod and me!  Goodnight!

36 Weeks!

Jarrod was very proud of this picture because he figured out how to take it so it didn't have a shadow.  :)  I look like crap because this was taken late last night, after a couple hours of contractions and a small hormonal meltdown!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 36 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby Hamm is the size of a honeydew right now and should weigh about 6lbs
Total Weight Gain/Loss: My scale says I've gained 32 lbs so far.
Maternity Clothes: Absolutely!
Gender: It's a GIRL!!!  When the name is decided, it will be kept a secret until she arrives.
We have our final two names now!  As much as I want to have a name before she's born, I think we're going to wait until we see her.
Movement: Definitely still feel her moving, but not like before.  She's running out of room these days.
Sleep: Sleep has been going downhill thanks to the million times I have to wake up to pee and the lovely carpal tunnel I've now developed.
What I miss:  Having complete feeling in my hands.
Cravings: Water, ice, and watermelon flavored things.
Symptoms:  Braxton Hicks contractions, heart burn and carpal tunnel are the main things right now.
Best Moment this week:  My prenatal massage - though I can't say it was the best massage ever {those are always given to me by my magnificent sister!} it always feels good to be massaged.  And, I've noticed that I haven't had a ton of hip pain since Saturday.

Have to play catch up...

Jarrod came home from work early on Friday and was off on Monday, so we had a long holiday weekend to spend together.  It was a great weekend, and I have a lot to post about today, so I have to get caught up.  On Friday, I documented everything for another "Day in My Life" post.  I did one last July, too, and decided to do one again.  So, aside from my weekly pregnancy update, I have that post to make, plus a post all about our special day Saturday that we spent with Gavin.  I'm about to upload pictures now and I'll work through the day to get things caught up.  :)

The best way to spend a hot afternoon

Don't we all spend an hour every afternoon reading books in our underwear???
