Uncle Dave made it to Arkansas

We had more visitors the weekend after Mimi and Beepa were here.  After five years living here, Dave finally made it to Arkansas for his first visit.  He never made it to NY, and he joked that he needed to make sure we were serious about this place before he made the effort to make it down here.  It was a really quick visit, but they were here for Easter dinner and it was a nice little visit from Ohio.

Thanks for spoiling the kiddos with your attention, Sandy and Dave.  They sure did love visiting with you.  Let's not make it another five years before you get back down.

Easter Photos

Catching up...  Time to share some Easter celebration photos.

The Friday before Easter, we were invited to Andrea's house for an egg hunt.  The weather was gorgeous and the kids were so excited to be outside.  It was really nice to be there and meet new friends, too.  Play dates are always great for the kids, but even better for the mamas!

I took probably eight photos of the two of them together with their Easter baskets...and this is the best one that came out!

On Saturday, we colored Easter eggs.  We did something a little different this time so that Riley could participate...we did 'spin-a-egg' or something like that.  Cute idea, Riley had fun, but it wasn't the greatest product.

On Easter Sunday, we were invited to go to many different places...aren't we popular?  Haha....kidding!  But, we decided to have a low-key day.  We woke up and had monkey bread for breakfast with the kids, went through Easter baskets, and enjoyed a lazy morning of snuggling.

Then, we walked up to a brunch at the Lee's house.  {Back in late February, I hosted a playdate here, and invited Jessica, who I had met from MOMS Club, and she asked if she could bring Amy, who lives in our neighborhood, so we could meet her...and it's been great because her little girl just turned two so we have a new friend that is a two minute walk away to spend time with during the day!}

We spent the rest of the day doing yard work, and then went for a nice walk to the subdivision next to us to play on the playground.  Gavin found a 'walking stick' on the way... :)

We ended Sunday night with Riley in bed early (thanks to no nap that day!), Gavin and Daddy watching a movie together, and I got to relax with a great book I recently started.  It's really making me think about my relationship with Gavin, and I'm loving it.

Such a great weekend!  I love family weekends like this one.....love my little family so much!

Easter Sunday

We spent Easter Sunday at the lake house with Mitch and Becky.  It was a nice, relaxing day.  Jarrod got to do some fishing and the kids and I hung out at the house and played some games.  Remember Guess Who?  Gavin caught on to that game quickly and though he couldn't read the names, he'd say, "Do you have T-O-M?" :)

The guys got back from fishing and we made a big breakfast, then Jarrod brought in the Easter baskets to surprise the kids.  Gavin could hardly wait to see what the surprise was that Daddy had for him!

The lighting was awful inside the house, so the pictures I took didn't turn out the best.  This picture is blurry, but I love the look on Riley's face.

Gavin really liked the new bubbles he got in his basket, and Riley loved watching him blow them from the inside of the window.  So cute!

The guys went back out on the boat while the kids napped, and when Gavin woke up, he went on a little Easter Egg hunt.  We stayed inside since Riley was still asleep.

Then Daddy came back and took Gavin out of the boat.  He loved it!

My two favorite munchkins!

We finished the night with a nice dinner at the lake house and dyed some Easter Eggs.  Pretty low key day, but lots of fun!

Eggs!

Sunday afternoon, we spent some time dyeing some eggs for Easter.  It was a little more fun this year since Gavin was more into it.  Here are a few shots for you -

Easter Egg Hunt

We told Gavin before he went to bed on Saturday that the Easter Bunny would probably visit us if we were sleeping well and hide some eggs.  He woke up to find a note from him telling us that he had in fact visited and hid 15 eggs in the house.  He had a great time finding them, and was really good at it, too!  I expected the hunt to last a little longer than it did!

And he was, of course, thrilled to find that the Easter Bunny had filled the eggs with M&Ms and Reese's Pieces.  When he finished opening them all, he told me he wanted candy for breakfast.  :)  Sounded like a good idea to me, too....but we were responsible parents and had him eat a real breakfast and have the candy for a snack.
