Our Beauty

I couldn't wait to get this gown on Riley from the first day I received it from Hannah.  Rebekah, a friend from the playgroup I joined when we moved here, makes gorgeous baby items.  She's so talented!  I'd been eyeing the gowns she makes since we first found out Baby Hamm was in fact a 'she.'  And then, sweet Hannah, another great friend from the playgroup, came to visit us when we came home from the hospital, armed with lasagna and a gift for Riley - a GOWN!  I LOVE the colors.  It's so pretty.  Here are some of the photos I took the first time she wore it.

I LOVE this one!

It's All About Daddy!

We had a great Father's Day here.  Gavin and I went to get donuts for daddy for breakfast and then we packed up Gavin's new fishing pole and took Gavin "fishing" for the first time at a nearby pond.

Gavin wasn't that into it, but we tried.  At one point we walked to a new spot and decided to just try bread instead of Jarrod's lures.  But, Gavin had other ideas - he ate the whole piece of bread while Daddy fished some more.

We fed a few ducks, too.  Jarrod wanted to bring one of them home because it was thinner and limping and the other ducks wouldn't let it get any bread.

And we finished our excursion with a little walk around the pond and played on the playground for a little while.

We did all that in about an hour at the pond.  See - told you Gavin wasn't that  into it! :)

When we got home, we did some work in the house and the yard, and then visited the rec for a little while after nap time.  Daddy and Gavin played basketball while I swam a little.  I love being in the pool while I'm pregnant!

We finished the night with a great dinner at Carino's!

Happy Father's Day, Jarrod!  Next year, you'll have two of them!

Family Park Time

Last weekend it was a beautiful day so we headed to a new park with Gavin and spent a little time playing on the playground.  I love family time like this.

And I especially love that Jarrod took the camera from me to snap some shots with me in them.  It's not often that the pics have me since I'm usually the one taking them!

Such a great afternoon with our little Bug!

Alone time

Gavin definitely wants me to play with him most of the day, but every once in a while, he'll go in and play with his trains all alone.  The trains are what keeps him the most occupied.  While he was in there playing last week, I snuck these photos from the doorway.  I love them.  I love him.

Photo Shoot

We never took Gavin to get professional photos done after he turned a year; we did photos with Portrait Innovations at 6 months and a year, but didn't do anymore after that. Many friends and family have reminded me that the photos they have of Gavin hanging on their refrigerator or in their wallets are his 1st birthday shots. I knew I wanted to take him and try to take some photos myself, but I hadn't found the right spot. Then, when my parents were here, we stumbled upon Compton Gardens by mistake, and I thought it was perfect! So last week, Gavin and headed there at 8am. I thought I'd get there early enough so it wouldn't be hot....fat chance. Still hot! Oh well...

I took probably 100 shots, and didn't like most of them. He was so uncooperative. Didn't want to look at me at all and just wanted to run on the trails by himself. I think the results would have been better had I gone on a day that Jarrod was with us so he could have helped get Gav's attention. After looking at the shots and doing some minor editing, these are my favorite 6.

Family and friends, if you want any copies of these sent to you (since these are now his 2 year "professional" photos), reply to this post in the comments or send me an email and tell me what number photos you want and if you want a wallet size, 4x6 or 5x7. I'll order the photos next week so get back to me by July 7th if possible. Thanks!

Man, our little boy is growing up. He looks so old in these shots, doesn't he??? And did you notice who is in his hands in the black and white shots? Of course....Woody and Buzz!

Thirteen Thursday

I've mentioned before how it makes me mad when I don't take pictures of family when we're visiting them or they're here. This time, I made it a point to get pictures of my family's visit, even if it meant that I had to take them myself! :) So, here are 13 random shots of my family from their trip here.

My parents, my son, and me....such a great picture, despite that we were all sweaty! (Except Gavin, who obviously had just gotten out of the bath!) On our way to the safari
