Riley Sings!

Lately, Riley's favorite show has shifted from Sesame Street to Super Why.  Of course, this would happen AFTER I've started planning her Sesame Street birthday party...  Anyway, because of Super Why, she's really into her letters and loves to sing {her abbreviated version} the Alphabet Song.  Enjoy!

Birthday Videos

On Riley's actual birthday, Gavin and I went in to get her in the morning with a surprise song!

This video is from her birthday party, when my little eater dug into her cake!  Blogger wouldn't upload it for some reason, so you'll have to use this link to You Tube.  Sorry!

Never Grow

Remember the Taylor Swift song from yesterday's slideshow?  Never Grow Up....or as Gavin calls it, Never Grow?  Check this out....so sweet!  I love these kids, and love how they interact.

Laundry Basket Fun

Who knew a laundry basket could provide such entertainment???  The kids had a blast with Daddy and the basket.  I love moments like these.  Love, love, love!

Swimming

Gavin really is making some progress with his swimming, but we still have a ways to go.  He really wanted Daddy to be able to see him at swim lessons, so this week, Jarrod surprised him and showed up at the lesson.  I told him I'd take some videos and then he could help me pick out one that he was proud of and I'd share it on the blog.

We watched them together, and deleted the ones that didn't really show anything.  Then, I thought for sure he'd pick one of him jumping in to Miss Jo, like this one...

But, nope...he picked this one.

Even though he's crying in the video, I think he really did feel proud of himself.  Just one more lesson left!  While I don't think he'll be going under by the end of the lesson without crying, I am happy for him and the progress he has made.

Trying to Keep Up!

Riley tries so hard to keep up with Gavin.  I think that's why she's starting to walk earlier than he did.  I love this video.  It shows just how much she tries to be like her big brother.  I was cooking dinner and had to grab my camera to capture this.

STEPS!!

Riley's growing up so fast!  For the past week or so, she's been taking two or three steps at a time.  She'll walk from the ottomans to the couch and back, or she'll take a step here and there to get to what she wants, especially if what she wants is Gavin.  I decided to try to get some steps on video today, and I'm so glad I did.  Remember, I'm the one recording and trying to get her to walk to me, so excuse the poor quality, but watch Riley take 7 steps to get to me! :)

Watching him mow

Riley loves to watch her Daddy mow the grass.  Watch how excited she gets when he starts coming towards her...so cute!

Crawling Update

To say Riley is mobile is an understatement.  She finds her way into the bathroom, the toyroom, under the table....  She still isn't crawling "correctly" so to speak, but she definitely gets herself where she wants to go!

Getting close!

It isn't the correct form, but she's getting mobile!  Crawling is just around the corner.

Trying this again

I'm hoping to get caught up on some videos...fingers crossed they upload this time.

These are from Putt-Putt a few weeks back.

A Break for Me - A Treat for You!

Since I'll be taking a break from blogging while we're away for a family wedding, I decided to schedule some videos to be posted.  Remember - my Flip software wasn't working, so these are some old ones!  :)

The first one is of Christmas morning when I went in to get him out of bed.  I thought this video would have turned out a lot differently! :)

Gavin's Birthday Interview

I decided to start asking Gavin the same questions on his birthday each year to see how his answers change.  Now that my Flip camera is working again, I thought it would be cute to "interview" him - wonder how many years he'll let me do this! :)

And just a couple notes - up until today, every time we asked, he said he wanted to be a doctor for babies like Baby Hamm.  I think the trip to the vet yesterday influenced him.  He refuses to eat watermelon, so I have no idea why he said that!  He does, however, love black olives and pasta so those were right on.  And his favorite toy - a trumpet?  He's been asking for one, but doesn't even have it yet....not sure how that it his favorite.

Videos!

Yay!  I finally got my Flip software working again, so I'll be posting some old videos (including Christmas!) over the next week or so.  But, here's a cute one just because...

Hot Diggity Dog!

Who needs techy guys?  Jarrod's friend came over on Friday as planned, but they got distracted and never looked at the computer.  Oops...  So, Sunday morning, I decided to take matters into my own hand and played around with things.  What did I do???  I have NO idea.  But, the internet now works on both my laptops!  So, problem solved.

Now, I'm finishing up getting the photos from the old laptop transferred to Shutterfly, which isn't an easy task when I take WAY too many photographs!  August, for example, I took 617 photos!  What?!?!  I guess that's what happens when you have such a super cute little man to capture.

But, for today, how about a little video of my singing guy!  Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is hit or miss around here, but he definitely likes to sing the Hot Dog song at the end!

Gavin reads!

I posted this video on Facebook last night, but I realize there are many blog readers that aren't on Facebook and I just had to share this.  Jarrod and I find ourselves saying several times a day how big Gavin is getting.  This video is yet another example.  It makes me so proud, both as a mommy and a teacher!  Just click the link below to watch it!
