Bringing back Flashback Friday
I was going through some old
pictures and it got me feeling nostalgic. I tried Flashback Friday
before, but I just didn't have a lot of pictures on my computer to keep
it up. So, I'm going to attempt it again... :)

Flashback Friday
I'm thinking Flashback Friday is going to be renamed...maybe Fun Times Friday??? The problem is that I'm running out of "flashback" pictures. I could do more if I'd scan pictures in, but I'm not motivated to do that. I've been limited to what's on my computer and I'm running out of interesting ones to choose from. So, Fun Times Friday begins!

Flashback Friday
Remember when I was a blonde...

Well...not anymore! So, what did I do??? I still don't know how I feel about it. I think it's a little dark, but Jarrod loves it and keeps telling me to give it time. I brought up the idea of going darker because I didn't want to have to worry about my roots and doing highlights as often. Believe it or not, this is closer to my natural color...I just haven't seen my natural color in probably 15 years! I love how Heidi went back to her natural color, and it looks great on her. When I asked Jarrod if he thought I should get my hair lighter or darker and he said darker, I was shocked. No turning back now...it's done! :) I know Tori doesn't like it :) I love that I have friends that will be honest with me **Thanks, Tori!!!**

Flashback Friday
Well, I wanted to add pictures from Lauren and Jeff's wedding since it's their anniversary. But, that wedding must have happened pre-digital camera days for me! Or, they are on some CD that still packed up. So, I'll paint the Flashback Friday pictures with words.
Imagine a hot, Ohio July day...
Us girls wore long black dresses with beautiful backs...
Lauren's dress was absolutely fabulous...she looked amazing!
My favorite picture...I was fanning Lauren by lifting the train of her dress up and down while we were outside taking pictures. Such a cute memory...
Happy 5th Anniversay, Lauren and Jeff!
(And, Happy 5th Anniversay, Sara and Clint! I didn't know Sara on her wedding day, so no pictures, but still a milestone to celebrate!)

Flashback Friday
I know it's not much of a "flashback" but this week's pictures are from two weeks ago. These pictures show our final memories in Ohio.
Thursday night, our last night in our house, we ordered Ron's Pizza and ate on the futon (on the floor). Gavin loved the pizza...if you look closely, you can see he's sitting on the box!
Bad angle, thanks to a self-timer
Valinda took this family picture in front of our house. Sadly, I think it's the only time we took a picture in front of our hosue on Carolyn Drive.
The greatest neighbor ever! What are we going to do in NY without Valinda???

Gavin's last day with Joyce. He looks so sad in this picture. Jarrod took him to the sitter, which got him all out of routine, and he cried so hard when Jarrod handed him to Miss Joyce. It took some doing, but Jarrod was able to get a picture with her like I asked him to. Now I have one from his first day and one from his last day for his baby book!

Wordless Wednesday and Flashback Friday
...are taking a hiatus! :) There is so much going on right now, and as much as I love sharing pictures with you all, it's just going to have to wait. Friday is the last day of school. Jarrod flies home Wednesday (a week from today) and the movers come a week from Friday. Once we get to NY, we'll probably be without internet for a couple weeks. Once we're all settled and the internet gets rolling, I promise lots of pictures and lots of updates. I will be a stay at home mom, afterall! :) Tons of time on my hands, right??? :) But...one cute picture to hold you over! Gavin's favorite thing right now is to take everything out of any basket or container he can find and climb into...and that includes Shirley's water bowl! Didn't get a picture of that one because it didn't seem too safe to leave him balancing in the water bowl (which are on a stand at least a foot high) on the tile floor of the bathroom.)

Flashback Friday
Our good friend, Robin, recently started a blog and I added her to my Blog List, so I thought these pictures would be fitting for Flashback Friday. These were taken on our visit to Toledo to visit Robin and meet baby Owen when he was just about 3 months old. Lauren, Angie, Heidi, and I took advantage of the trip and did our Christmas gift exchange while we were there. We literally spent the whole time talking or eating! We had lunch, hung out in the hotel room and talked with Lauren, then went back out to dinner. :)

Flashback Friday
It's May!!! That means...Angie is getting married this month! These pictures were taken back in February 2008, when Andy proposed to her at a birthday dinner. I got an email in late 2007 from Andy saying he wanted some help with a "surprise for Angie." We all knew immediately what that surprise was! Jarrod and I went to Columbus, and went out to dinner with Lauren, Jeff, and Heidi. Soon after arriving, Angie and Andy showed up. Of course, she was a little confused about why we were all there, but it was her birthday dinner, so it looked like we'd just come for that. But...Andy immediately got down on one knee! Don't you love the picture of them on their cell phones??? That was about 5 minutes after the "Yes!" response. :)

One year ago...
...from this moment, we were driving to the hospital!!! We checked in around 8:30, and found out around 9:30 that we were being admitted since I was 4 cm dilated. The family all arrived around 11pm. We walked the halls for a little while, but mostly I stayed in bed. Around 2am, I got an epidural. It gave me such a bad headache so they brought me Mountain Dew...which in turn made me feel like puking! Around 3:45am, my water broke. By 8am, I was 9 1/2 cm dilated. I remember feeling such pain in my hip...they later told me it was because of the direction Gavin was facing. I started pushing around 9:15, and at 9:45am, Gavin Jack Pate arrived, weighing 6 lbs. 10 oz. and measuring a very long 21 1/4 inches...thanks to his major cone head! :)
It's amazing to me how fast time went, yet how long ago that night feels, all at the same time. I remember driving to the hospital, telling Jarrod that it was probably a false alarm and that we were going to be sent home. I remember calling Nick to tell him I needed him to get me a sub for the next day. Tonya answered the phone. All I said was, "Tonya, it's Jen. Is Nick there?" and she said, "Are you in labor?!?!?" :) I texted everyone telling them I was admitted. Jarrod was so supportive and tried to be as helpful as he could, even though he was exhausted. We both were...we'd both worked all day Monday before going to the hospital that night.
Now our little bug is 1!

Flashback Friday
Our 3rd wedding anniversary is just right around the corner...hard to believe that Jarrod and I have known each other for 13 years now. I love you, Jarrod! Thanks for being the most amazing husband and father I ever could have dreamt about.
