Bass Pro Day Trip

I know a trip to Bass Pro Shop doesn't sound exciting to everyone (myself included...) but unfortunately, there isn't a whole lot to do locally so we have to get creative. On Friday, we decided to take a road trip for the day with our friends, John and Erin. They're considering buying a boat, so we thought we'd head up into Missouri to check out the most popular tourist attraction in the state. Isn't that ridiculous? The St. Louis Arch is in Missouri, yet more people visit the Bass Pro Shops Headquarters than the Arch....kinda crazy.

Anyway, we checked out the boats, but really had a good time just admiring the store. It's huge and quite impressive. Gavin loved all the animal displays. It was like we were at the zoo or a museum!

The alligator was actually one of the live animals in the store. :)

He was really intrigued by the raccoons. I kept telling him all about the tent and campfire - trying to prepare him for when we decide to take him camping!

Then we had fun trying on some things. Gavin got his leg in this boot and actually stood himself up -but not long enough for me to get his picture.
Cute hat, baby!
This looks like something we would have seen in one of the NY State Parks we visited....but nope! It's inside a store!
