Back after a long break!

After spending nearly a week visiting family, we're back and into the swing of things.  I have so many pictures to post and things to share, so it will be a busy week of catching up.  First, I wanted to share a couple pics I took the night before we left.  Gavin was being so silly!

First, I wanted him to keep busy while I finished packing, so I hung his backpack on the door and asked him to pick a few toys he wanted to take with him on our trip.  He filled it to the max!  I couldn't even zip it up, so I had to do some eliminating when he wasn't looking.

Then, I heard him yelling for help from the bathroom, and when I went in he said he needed his toothbrush.  I asked why, and he said because he needed to brush Mr. Potato Head's teeth.  How cute is he?

Little things to remember

I love that Gavin is starting to appreciate my photography hobby.  :)  He now will tell me what he wants me to take pictures of and then wants to 'see it' so I have to show him the screen.  The other day, he asked me to take some pictures of his toys.  So, off we went into the toyroom and he told me what he wanted my to photograph.  He would get so excited when I showed him the picture.  I know one day, we'll look back on these and remember all the fun he had in the toy room and I'll be so glad he asked me to take these pictures.  We may complain that he has too many toys right now, but someday, we'll miss them.

Toy Room Disaster

Remember the picture of the toy room from my 'A Day in My Life' post?  Well, this is more like the 'typical' toy room day....and these were taken before lunch.

But, I guess when Gracie's here, I leave the room for a few minutes, and I come back to find both kids like this, I can't expect it to look much better, huh?
Oh well - what's a mama to do?

Goodbye, Ball Pit!

Gavin loves the ball pit that Aunt Rosi bought him for Christmas. But, I think this series of photos will show you why Jarrod and I don't share the same love anymore and are considering putting it away for a while....

Cleaning up 200 balls several times a day is getting quite old!

A Basket of Balls

I reorganized Gavin's playroom recently. Now, all his balls are contained to one basket under my scrapbooking table. He, on the other hand, doesn't think they are meant to be there....

John's Tractor

Gavin has a new love of tractor. We recently visited Doug and Kim, friends through Sam's Club, and their children for dinner. Gavin fell in love with all of their son's tractors and played in his room with him most of the night. When it came time to leave, Gavin didn't want to let go of the tractors, so John (age 11) said he could borrow one. This tractor has been Gavin's new obsession. He calls it "John's Tractor" and I can't tell you how many times we have found ourselves on our hands and knees searching EVERYWHERE for John's tractor. He sleeps with it, takes it in the car, plays with it....he even let me clip his nails recently because we had to show John's Tractor how he gets his nails cut. :) He loves it, but it sure does drive Jarrod and I crazy when we spend our evenings before bed searching high and low for John's Tractor! I'm not sure John will ever get this thing back....
