After-Bath Hair-Do!

 Someday she'll have more hair, but for now, we're loving her mohawk.

I love him!

I feel guilty sometimes about how many pictures I share of Riley now.  My friend, Danielle, was always so good about sharing a picture of each of her boys after her new baby was born.  I'd love to share more pictures of Gavin, but the fact is, I don't get as many of him anymore!  He loves to take pictures with my camera, but doesn't always let me take pictures anymore.  He's even told me before that I'm annoying him!  And so, it begins...

But...when I have him contained in the bathtub, he can't run from me, and I love to take a few photos of him.  Daddy is usually the one to do bath time, so when I do give him one, I make sure to snap away.  

I {love} these eyes!

It is always such an ordeal getting Gavin into the bath...he never wants to get it.  But, once he's in, it's like pulling teeth to get him out!  He usually is in there until the water is cold and we have to add more warm water just to wash him.  

I cannot believe he will be 4 next month.  How in the world did that happen???  I remember when we first moved to NY and, after being away from us for so long, Jarrod took over baths for Gavin and I thought it was the greatest thing ever.  He was just over one then, and now he's almost FOUR!  Amazing!

I love you, Gavin Jack.  Daddy and I both do.  A lot.

The girl LOVES bath time!

Giving this girl a bath requires rain gear!  She loves to splash around and gets the floor, kitchen counter, and ME soaking wet! 

Bath Time!

In an attempt to get more cuteness on the blog, I'm sharing some bath time pics from the last couple of baths.  Isn't she just adorable?  After the first bath, she's pretty much loved bath time.  She's super calm the entire time and loves to kick her feet.

The 'Do

Gavin's usually in such a good mood after his bath and I can snap a few smiley photos. Love the mohawk hair-do! :)

Too bad he isn't always this smiley. Lately, those terrible twos are really coming out. It's been a total change in his attitude! As soon as he hears 'no' he's on the floor crying. Oh, fun stuff!

12 Weeks to Better Photos

Remember back in February when I started the '12 Weeks to Better Photos' tutorial?

Well, with packing and moving, I took a break from it and never remembered to 'restart' it until a few friends have mentioned learning how to use their new cameras. So, I restarted the tutorial.

Week 2 was about shutter speed and ISO. Here are two photos I took of running water using different shutter speeds.

Then, after playing around with it enough and seeing the way the water looked with different shutter speeds, I snapped this photo of Gavin's hand in the tub that night.

Could I tell someone exactly how to get a photo like this? Probably not....I'm still playing around with the camera and learning it. But, I do realize now how different a photo can turn out with different shutter speeds! Now, on to week 3....

The Dragon!

Gavin's hooded bath towel turns him into a "dragon." He loves it. Yes, I know I'm a dork for taking these pictures, but this is something we do after every bath and it's one of those memories I wanted to capture so I could look back on. Once I get him all wrapped up, I ask him if he's ready to see the Dragon and he gets all excited. Then, we look in the mirror and he smiles so big! I kiss the most adorable dragon ever, and he gives me a kiss. Then it's off to the living room!

On this particular night, I put him on the couch all wrapped up and there was something on TV (or as Gavin calls it, PV) that caught his attention. I grabbed his diaper and jammies, but he was so intrigued with the show that he just sat there and watched. I took advantage of the few minutes of him actually sitting still and snapped some photos.

I absolutely LOVE these wrinkly toes! Couldn't you just eat them up???

Splish Splash

....in Mommy and Daddy's jacuzzi tub! Daddy was working late one night and I thought it would be fun to put Gavin in the jacuzzi tub to give us something different to do. He really liked it, but didn't "swim" around like I expected him to. He kept wanting to turn the water on and I kept telling him no...I didn't want him to think it was ok to do that when I wasn't around and turn the hot on by accident. Well, here he is looking all mischievous as I kept telling him no... And here he is looking very proud as he accomplished exactly what he wanted!

He loves the water! So much so, he eventually tried drinking it...which resulted in swallowing too much and choking a bit. I think he learned his lesson!

And as I let the water out, I let him go crazy and splash as much as he wanted! So much fun!

Video time

When I uploaded the video of Gavin showing us how smart he is, I realized there are a couple more cute ones I haven't shared yet. So, here's one more. (Look tomorrow for the other.)

A cute little bath time video! I thought he'd enjoy our large tub more than his....he liked it, but not like I expected!

Bath time and Silly Faces

Gavin has so much fun when Daddy gives him a bath. It had been a while since I took bath pics, so I grabbed the camera and snapped away. He's just recently started making "funny faces" (the pics near the end with his tongue out and his fingers on his cheeks.) These turned out so cute.

For the new house, we were trying to find some fish artword to hang in his fish themed bathroom, but I think we're going to use some of these instead.
