Wordless Wednesday

Not what I'm supposed to be doing...

I feel like crap tonight, and I still haven't finished my report cards that I told myself would be done before I left for Gatlinburg (don't say it...I know!) But, this was so cute, I wanted to pass it on!

Apologizing now - this is picture heavy. :) So, let's get to them!

This is the cabin we rented. It looks really big because of the wrap around deck. It was a one bedroom with a loft, a pool table, a hot tub on the deck and a fireplace. The driveway was so incredibly narrow and steep! If we'd taken Jarrod's truck, we never would have made it up the drive.

Our first stop on Monday was to the aquarium. Gavin was just excited to be out of the car after crying for probably 3 hours straight. Not a good time to decide you don't like car rides, Gav!

And, pulling all the DVDs and books off their shelves was another favorite time. I think we probably put things back on these shelves 2 or 3 times a day.

We visited the stables since we weren't able to go horseback riding and let Gavin see and pet the horses. They even let us hold him up on one for a picture, but I love how this one turned out. I love that he's actually petting Queen (that was the horse's name).

We turned the hot tub down to a comfortable bath temperature and Gavin went hot tubbin' with us. He really like it, but without the jets and bubbles!

A cute black and white shot! The weather wasn't quite as warm as we'd hoped, and on this morning, it was also drizzling a bit. So, we bundled him up and headed down to the strip. We went into Hard Rock Cafe for lunch (where Gavin danced the afternoon away) and came out to sunshine! It was wonderful.

Spring break update

I didn't blog last week because of spring break. Jarrod was home and we went to Gatlinburg. It was so much fun to spend more than just a couple days as a family.

First - all the new Gavin tricks! In the past two weeks, he's learned:

1. How to dance every time he hears music (and sometimes when there's no music at all!


2. How to give kisses on demand. Wet baby kisses are adorable!


3. How to climb steps...while at Grandma and Grandpa Peters' house for our early Easter dinner, he climbed up three steps on his own.


4. How to shake his head no (and he knows what he's doing!) Funny story about this...When Jarrod first got home, he said something to Gavin and it sounded like Gavin replied, "Yeah." I started laughing and said I love how it sounds like he is answering us sometimes. Jarrod then asked, "Gavin, has mommy been reading to you like she's supposed to?" He looked at us, smiled, then very deliberately started shaking his head no. That was the first time he ever did that. Now...he shakes his head no when I ask him something, try to feed him, and when he's doing something he's not supposed to do, like taking outlets covers off.

Gavin was sick at the beginning of spring break, but the doctor said it was just a cold. When he was getting worse near the end of our trip, we decided to take him back as soon as we got home. Sure enough, his first ear infection! After a few days on Amoxicillin, he's doing much better!

Gatlinburg update and pictures later this evening. But for now, a few of Gavin's first Easter...

Friday Flashback - Saturday edition

I told you I wasn't sure that FF would happen every Friday! I totally forgot to upload these pictures yesterday. Jarrod and I were busy taking Gavin back to the doctor (he officially has his first ear infection) and spending some family time together before he headed back to NY. And I know I missed Wordless Wednesday, too! Ooops! We were in Gatlinburg. I'll blog about our trip tomorrow. Heading out to Angie's bridal shower now.

What a difference a year makes! These pictures were taken almost exactly a year ago. Amazing!
