Gavin's birthday party

It was a beautiful day! We had the family in town and had a lunch cookout. We did cake outside, which was not as messy as some first birthdays. Gavin's rather neat...he must get that from Daddy! :) We then moved the party inside and opened presents. It was a really good day. We loved having the family with us and spending time with our little man. And boy was he pooped afterwards!

10 more days!

I can't believe the first year is almost over. I went today and bought Gavin's birthday presents from Mommy and Daddy. We have all the decorations, the cake's been ordered, invitations to the family are out. Daddy will be home on Wednesday and Aunt Pat is flying in from Florida for the big day. It's amazing how fast the time went. He's still so little but yet is getting so big, all at the same time! First birthday portraits are this week and the family cookout is next weekend. I love my little bug so much!

Our 3rd wedding anniversary is just right around the corner...hard to believe that Jarrod and I have known each other for 13 years now. I love you, Jarrod! Thanks for being the most amazing husband and father I ever could have dreamt about.

Easter in NY

Gavin and I flew to NY for Easter weekend by ourselves. Flying alone with Gavin has always been something I was terrified to do. I wasn't sure how I'd make it through the airport, go through security, handle the carry-on and Gavin all alone. But, I did it...and I did it quite well if I don't say so myself! Gavin did great and luckily I sat next to some understanding people that were willing to help me if I needed it and let Gavin play with them when he wasn't sleeping.

It was great to spend some more time with Jarrod. We had dinner with some managers from Sam's and just hung out together. The next time he'll be home it will be time for Gavin's birthday party! Wow!!!
