More Meggie and Kyle

We spent a wonderful weekend in St. Louis with our families and now it's time to get back to blogging.  Hopefully just a couple more posts and we'll be caught up on the visit from Megan and Kyle, and then I'll be sure to get St. Louis photos up and updates on Tot School.

Megan brought with her a box of her art supplies and Gavin found it.  She was really excited to do a project with him....they started using some of her supplies but within minutes, Gavin had lost interest, leaving her to finish the picture alone.

A Safari Trip

Of course, we had to take Megan and Kyle to the Wild Wilderness Drive-Thru Safari since it's one of the most interesting things we've found since moving here.  I, as usual, took too many pictures.  Here are some of my favorites. 

Funny story behind this...that bird actually landed on me first.  Out of nowhere, from behind....I had NO idea what it was and FREAKED OUT!  Jarrod, in true supportive husband fashion, laughed and made fun of me for screaming.  It then landed on him and wouldn't leave him alone.  They told us it had escaped and they hadn't been able to capture it for a week.  Jarrod tried to help them out and walked him to the gate so he could put him in a cage.  As soon as he got to the gate, the bird flew away.  It then landed on Kyle, who had just said he 'didn't do birds.'  Eventually, the bird was returned to his cage.  Good thing we visited the safari that day!

Time to start uploading the pics from Megan and Kyle's visit.  Gavin had a blast with them!  We all did!  It was our first time meeting Kyle, and he fit right in.  Megan and Kyle just go together - like peanut butter and jelly!  They're a perfect match.

When they first arrived, they showed Gavin all kinds of gifts.  Since Kyle's a police officer, they brought him some police items.  Gavin, unfortunately, wasn't very interested in the hat or the ginormous vest....so Megan modeled them!  {He did, however, love the whistle and walkie talkie.  He still plays with them frequently!}

Much to my surprise, they were up early to play with Gavin each day.  {If you know my sister, you know she is not a morning person!}  They had a great time playing cars and peek-a-boo. 

And of course, a visit with Aunt Meggie wouldn't be complete without some art time!  Painting :)

Gavin definitely made a new friend in Kyle.  They spent a lot of time building choo-choo tracks!

Wednesday Weigh-In

Yesterday was such a busy day, I realized I didn't post a weigh-in.  I lost 0.8lbs last week, which considering how many watermelon margaritas I had with Megan, I think that's a great thing!  So, at 138.6, I've lost a total of 6.9lbs since the beginning of August!  Yay! :)
