We have a tiger on our hands

Here's the backstory - last week, we're visiting an indoor playground for the first time. Gavin is sitting in the ball pit playing, and starts pointing to the wall and babbling. I look up, and there's a huge tiger painted on the wall. So, in my mommy-voice, I said, "Yep, that's a tiger, Gavin. Good job!" And he GROWLS! On his own...not an animal sound I even knew he could do! It was so cute, so I of course had to get my phone out and try to record it to show Jarrod. Luckily, he did it again :) Enjoy...it's the cutest little growl I've ever heard!

Trick or Treating with the Davis'

Gavin's first Trick or Treat experience was fun, yet brief. We headed to Penfield and went out with Alex, Stephanie, and their kids. They all looked adorable. But, after just a few houses, the chilly, windy night turned a bit rainy, so we called it quits. Less candy here means less I'll eat! But, Gavin did enjoy being outside and loved playing with the kids. I'm excited for next year already!

Back in the car, and he wanted his pretzels! So glad he doesn't know what candy is yet :)

Happy Halloween!

Yesterday, my little skeleton and I headed to Danielle's for the Mommies Gone Wild playgroup Halloween party. Unfortunately, the illnesses going around have hit the playgroup, so we had a lot of kiddos that couldn't make it. But, the few of us that were there had fun. Too bad the kids didn't want to wear their costumes too long. I didn't get many pictures of them with their costumes on. Oh well! Enjoy!

Gavin wearing his borrowed skeleton costume! Thanks, Evan, for letting Gavin wear it. The lion costume was just too scary for him :) Mackenzie the Giraffe

Ever seen a skeleton ride a tricycle before?
Robbie, the Lion (can't you tell?) rocking it with the guitar!
Evan saying "Cheese!"
Buddies :) Evan and Gavin

We'll be heading over to Alex and Stephanie's tonight for Trick or Treating. The weather isn't supposed to be great at all...rain! So, if it rains, we'll just be hanging out with their kids. Should be a fun night, though. Happy Halloween, everyone!

Fun Times Friday

I love pumpkin carving time! Jarrod enjoys the carving, but hates gutting them. Call me strange, but I actually enjoy sticking my hand in all that goop :) So, earlier this week we carved pumpkins with Gavin. He's taking after daddy and wanted nothing to do with all the nastiness inside the pumpkin, but he did enjoy picking up the seeds and putting them in the bowl. We used the seeds later in the week for a craft. Here are some pictures we took. His final pumpkin, courtesy of mommy, was a Mickey Mouse pumpkin. I wanted to do something he might recognize, and it was the easiest choice :)

Thankful Thursday

I'm so thankful that I have a sister like Megan (Happy Birthday, Megan! You're a quarter-century now!) Megan is always the one I turn to for advice or a listening ear, because she always knows just what to say. I cherish the times we had "sister nights" when we were both in high school, preparing for me to leave for college. We spent many fun nights painting pottery at The Kiln, giving each other massages, and just spending time together. I'm excited for her to visit me in NY so I can show her around and introduce her to Upstate NY. :)

When I was visiting home, I not only got a lovely hour long massage (thank you, Cincinnati School of Medical Massage, for teaching my sister awesome new techniques!), but she also gave me an amazing early Christmas present. It was a total surprise....and Jarrod and I are so in love with it! We can't wait until she finishes it and sends it our way.

If you want to see what the original picture looked like, click on her blog below. It's based off the 4th picture down, a shot she took of Gavin back in June when he was about 13 months old.
