Wordless Wednesday

Snow Day!

Our family day on Saturday ended with some playing in the snow. We had our first big storm on Wednesday/Thursday, which gave us about 4 inches maybe (we lucked out and missed most of the snow). But, it was so frigid that we didn't take Gavin out. So we played in the leftover snow on Saturday, and it lasted about 5 minutes. Gavin liked the snow, but he didn't like the cold too much. I realized after those 5 minutes and 18 pictures that I need to learn how to use my camera a little better to take good snow shots. Most of them didn't turn out well. Uggh... Oh well. Here are the ones I like. (P.S. Love my new snow boots, Grandma Dixie! Thanks! It took me a while to figure out how to walk in them but they kept my feet warm. And, my cute winter coat and hat are courtesy of Grandma Jackie. Aren't I so lucky?)

Family Day

Saturday after we volunteered, we decided to make some Christmas cookies and then play in the snow some (snow pictures coming tomorrow). Well, Jarrod helped me make the cookies and Gavin really wasn't all that interested (but I made him get up on the chair anyway so I could get some pictures! haha...) I ended up doing most of the decorating. Jarrod wasn't interested in that part, and Gavin tried helping, but, well....you'll see how that turned out!

Can you tell how many sprinkles he put on that one cookie? It was so funny to see them pouring out in the same spot. Oh well!

Fantasy Flight

Yesterday, Jarrod, Gavin and I joined other Sam's employees and volunteered at Fantasy Flight and Winter Wonderland. Today is the big day, but yesterday was all the prep work. Fantasy Flight and Winter Wonderland, from my understanding, is a program that gives a wonderful Christmas experience to children with life threatening illnesses and/or are underprivileged. The kids get to take a plane ride to "The North Pole" to look for Santa, and then come back to the Wonderland to meet Santa and get a gift. We decorated Christmas trees and wrapped presents yesterday, and Jarrod is working the drink station today while the event is taking place. It was really neat to see all the people there working yesterday. I would love to see all the kids' faces today! Look at all the wrapped toys! They're in bins separated by age so the children get an appropriate toy.

Fun Times Friday

Well, it's Fun Times Friday....so what fun stuff are we doing today? Hmmm.... well, Gavin was up twice last night, and then up for the day at 5:45am, so needless to say, we're a bit sleep deprived. Unfortunately Jarrod had to work today so I'm sure he's exhausted there. I cuddled with Gavin this morning, just trying to get enough energy to get started on the day. Once he was down for his nap at 9:30 (that's what happens when you wake up at 5:45am!) I showered and had a cup of coffee and got started. So...on to the fun stuff. So far today, I have:

• swept the floors
• vacuumed
• ran the dishwasher
• did two loads of laundry
• dusted and polished furniture in the bedroom and living room
• finished addressing Christmas cards and got them stamped
• gave Gavin a bath and got him dressed for the first time in 48 hours (gotta love pajama days!)
• got my bag ready for my party tonight

How's that for fun stuff? Now I'm off to make Jarrod some brownies and get dressed for my party. Sorry no cute pictures or anything....I didn't download any new shots. Maybe next time!
