Do you think Gavin watches too much Wheel of Fortune?

Gavin loves this show! It's taught him many of his letters, so we don't mind that he watches it. We actually think it's cute how he says all the letters and waves, "Bye, Pat!" at the end of the episode. Well, recently Gavin and I got out of the house and headed to our favorite place, Melon Bean, for lunch. We had yummy bagels (plain for him, Mediterranean Turkey on Asiago Cheese bagel for me) and he played while I talked to Andrea. There was a little boy there doing a puzzle, and Gavin walked up to him and said, "Prize Puzzle!" :) I think he may watch Wheel a little too much.

Wordless Wednesday

A milestone I don't know if I should be proud of...

Gavin's sleep schedule hasn't been the best since we traveled to Arkansas. He's been getting up earlier than normal, which I think is because of the time change there. Yesterday was no different - he was up by 6:15. By 10, I could tell he was tired, as was I....Jarrod and I both had a touch of a stomach bug or food poisoning and didn't sleep much the night before. So, I took Gavin in, read him his book, rocked him and sang, and in his crib he went for his nap. I came back out and realized I'd missed a call from my dad. After calling him, I had to call the bank. I was on hold for them when I heard a noise - it sounded like Gavin was dropping his trains behind his crib, which is normal. Then I heard another noise and thought I'd grab the monitor to check on him. While still on hold, I started back toward my bedroom to get the monitor. Just as I turned the corner, there was Gavin, walking down the hall toward me.... ?!?!?!?

He was holding his arm, almost like he'd hurt it, but he had the straightest face and just looked at me as he walked by me. I have no idea exactly how he got out of the crib, but he did. Once I was finished with the bank, I told him he had to get back in his bed for a nap and he cried and cried and cried. I left the room and watched him cry on the monitor, kind of hoping he'd try it again so that I could see how he got out. But, he didn't....he eventually laid down and went back to sleep. No attempts at climbing out at bedtime, either. Hopefully it was a one time thing!

I'm so excited :)

Our big move is just weeks away! We're so anxious about the move, but I'm sooo ready for it. Since we thought we were moving this week, so much is packed and we're living around boxes. I don't have any motivation to clean or do things around here because I just keep thinking, "Oh, we're moving soon, I'll have to clean it all then anyway."

I'm really excited though because we already have our first visitors scheduled! When we leave here, we're driving through Cincinnati so we can see our families. Once we get back on the road, my mom and Aunt Rosi are going to drive down with us to Bentonville. This will mean we'll have someone to talk to in the car and someone else to drive if we need a break. Plus, they'll be there to help use unpack and keep Gavin entertained while we get stuff done. They'll be there with us Monday-Friday and then they're flying back to Cincinnati. My mom's first flight!!! Oh, the things she does for me (ok, really she's doing it for Gavin!)

Then, at the end of April, Jackie, whom Gavin has now named Memaw, will be flying down to spend a week with us for Gavin's birthday. We're so excited to have family come visit us and spend time with us. I love when we have visitors! :)

Fun {Last} Night Out with the {MGW} Girls

Last July, I did one of the smartest things I could've done....I found the Mommies Gone Wild playgroup and joined. It was the best thing I've done here in Rochester for myself and for Gavin. We have had so much fun with our newest friends at playdates and Mommies Night Out events.

On Thursday, I went out for my last Mommies Night Out with some of the girls (there are 18 total in the group). We braved the snowy weather and roads and headed to P.F. Chang's for some yummy dinner, drinks, and dessert. It was a fun time and we had some great adult conversation....something that we usually don't get to have while on playdates at Strong or The Sandbox! :)

I always loved Megan's Senior Quote in her yearbook. (So much so that I used it as the title for a scrapbook I made for her.) "How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard." I felt very lucky to have so many wonderful friends and my amazing family in Ohio, and now I feel extremely lucky that in just 9 months, I've made wonderful friends that make leaving Rochester just as hard! Thank you, Mommies Gone Wild girls, for making my time here so great!
