Dancin' Man!

Steve and Heather's reception was really nice!  We got there and had some yummy appetizers while waiting for the newlyweds to arrive, and then we had a great buffet of Italian foods for a late lunch.  Gavin entertained himself with pieces of the centerpieces and with his game, of course!

Then it was time for dancing!  Steve and Heather looked adorable, as usual.

Gavin loved all the dancing.  He and Daddy spent some time walking around and watching all the dancing, and then it was time for Gavin to dance with Mommy.  I knew I'd be hurting by the end of the day, but it was worth it!  He loved it and kept asking me to dance more!

Apparently, Steve didn't like Aunt Pat's singing during the Mother-Son dance.

Gavin even danced with Heather during the Dollar Dance.  :)

I love this guy!

Pre-Wedding Time...Through the Eyes of Gavin

Gavin is really into the camera these days.  He always wants to take pictures now.  So, I wrap the strap around his neck and try to help him hold it, but he looks through and pushes the button to take the photo.  Here are a few he took while we were waiting for the ceremony to start.

Wedding!

Saturday was the wedding day.  We were, of course, up bright and early (read:4:15!) thanks to Gavin.  Breakfast at the hotel was first on our agenda, then we got ready and stopped by the mall on our way to the wedding.  Jarrod surprised me by telling me he was going to buy me a new watch for Mother's Day.  But....I convinced him that wasn't what I really needed.  I haven't worn a watch since I was pregnant with Gavin!  So, instead, I got the Bare Minerals make-up I've been wanting.  :)  Yay!
Then, we headed to the wedding for family pictures before the ceremony.  Of course, Gavin fell asleep on the way, so he got in a 20 minute nap.  The chapel Steve and Heather were getting married in was gorgeous!  We did some pictures and then witnessed their very sweet ceremony.

When we first arrived - we slowly had to wake him up for the pics

Heather looked gorgeous!

My handsome guys!

Rehearsal Day

Friday was the rehearsal day, and the only day we saw rain.  We went in the morning to help decorate the reception site, and Gavin kept himself busy with his trains!

Friday night we went to the rehearsal dinner at Aunt Pat's house.  Gavin loved playing in her huge yard with the dogs.  He was so tired and so dirty when we left!

By the time we got back to the hotel and gave Gavin a bath, he was in bed WAY past his bedtime.  Not a big deal...we were on vacation right?  No, not with Gavin.  Late bedtime means bad night of sleep.  So, at 4:15, we were up.  Fun stuff.  I tried really hard to get him to lay back down, and he did doze off for maybe 30 minutes, but not long.  I got him to at least stay on the bed so I could rest until 6:30 or so, but we knew right then that he would be in bed at his normal time for Saturday!

The start of vacation!

Finally, Blogger is letting me update the blog!  I had pics uploaded last night but couldn't get on.   I'll be posting in order of the trip, because that's just how my mind works.  :)

We woke up bright and early on Thursday and caught our flight.  We had two layovers because of the price of the flight.  Gavin did well on all the flights - he complained of his ears hurting during landing, but then was fine.

He immediately fell asleep on the 2nd flight and slept pretty much the whole time.

Once we got there, we had a 2 hour drive to Aunt Pat's house.  He slept some more on the drive, but did have a minor meltdown when he woke up and realized he was still in the car.  We went straight to Aunt Pat's and had dinner and then went to the hotel.  Jackie was super nice and paid for our hotel while we were there.  We stayed in a Homewood Suites, which I highly recommend.  We had a separate bedroom area for us and Jackie had a sleeper sofa in the living room.  We also had a kitchenette so we could keep drinks, etc. and they had breakfast every morning and even a dinner each week night.

We all needed a good night's sleep, and of course, Gavin was up pretty early the next day...  More on that to come!
