Thankful Thursday

Things I find myself being thankful for....since becoming a mom.
1. A relaxing bubble bath - for mommy, not Gavin
2. Listening to the radio in the car, not Barney
3. A trip through Walmart that doesn't involve holding Gavin,
pushing the cart, and trying to find my coupons
4. Browsing the shelves at a bookstore or library at my own pace
5. "Sleeping in" until 6:30am
6. Eating my food while it's still hot
7. "Date Night" with Jarrod - even when it is just snuggling on the
couch to watch Friends DVDs
8. Being a stay-at-home-mom, spending nearly every minute
of every day with him - I can't imagine doing it any other way now!

Trick or Treating 2010

What a difference location makes!  Last year, when we went trick-or-treating, it was cold and rainy in NY.  From what I hear, it was snowing this year!  Well, it was in the 70s here on Sunday and trick-or-treating was beautiful!  We were invited to go with Amy, Chris, and Lucas, and had so much fun.  Before heading out, we had pizzas for dinner and let the kids play and then put the kids in the wagon and walked around their gorgeous neighborhood.  Gavin was so intrigued by all the leaves and acorns on the ground!  We don't have many trees in our neighborhood, so that was a new experience for him.  Lucas and Gavin did really well trick-or-treating and remembering to say 'thank you.'  The holiday has created a monster, though - Gavin is constantly asking for candy now!  Definitely has my sweet tooth!

Look how cute they were holding hands!

Hopefully the photos show up ok for you...my camera was driving me crazy Sunday night.  So many shots were coming up blurry and the colors seemed off.  I recently read about a new lens that I'm going to get someday.  I'm hoping to save up some Amazon gift cards that I am earning through Swagbucks to get it.  :)

Ghost Hunter

Ok, a couple more Halloween posts!  On Halloween morning, Gavin and I had fun being "ghost hunters."  A friend on a message board posted this idea and I thought it was super cute.  So, Saturday night, after Gavin went to bed, I hid 8 of his toys disguised as ghosts around the living room.  When he woke up I told him I had a surprise for him and we started out search.  He quickly got into it and had a blast figuring out which toy was under the tissue.  After finding all 8, he kept asking to look for more ghosts.

Halloween's Over...time to think about CHRISTMAS!

I know, I know....we still have Thanksgiving to celebrate, but I can't help it!  I'm so excited to prepare for Christmas!  I love this time of the year.  Time to start thinking about the lights, the tree, the cookies....the Christmas cards!

Shutterfly has some super cute cards this year.  I keep changing which one is my "favorite" but for right now, I'm leaning toward the Christmas Letter Card.  I love that it's a photo card, but also lets me write more than just a generic 'Happy Holidays from Our Family to Yours' message.  We'll see...I'm on Shutterfly quite frequently so I'm sure I'll find more that I love!  I haven't ordered our Christmas cards from Shutterfly before, but have done numerous calendars and photo books and I'm always so excited to get them in the mail.  I love looking at our calendar everyday and seeing pictures from the memories we made last year.  Since all our photos are already uploaded to Shutterfly and their cards are so adorable, they'll be getting another order from me for our cards!

Want to see the cards I'm talking about?  Check out Shutterfly's photo cards.  I think you'll see why I keep changing my mind on my favorite.  They're all so cute!  And while you're there, check out their gift tags and address labels, too.  Plus, Shutterfly is offering 20% off all their holiday cards right now!
