16 Weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 16 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby Hamm is the size of an avocado -
the toenails are starting to grow!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +10lbs...another 2lbs last week.  I'm blaming the snow and not being able to leave the house!
Maternity Clothes: 90% of the time I'm in maternity clothes.  I still have a few regular shirts that fit ok.
Gender: Unknown....my gut says it's another boy right now though.  Jarrod still says girl.
Gavin has been saying girl a lot more now.
Movement: I'm starting to randomly feel little butterflies in my stomach but haven't felt much this week.  I'm really looking forward to that!
Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty good but getting up once or twice to pee is getting old already.
What I miss:  I do love being pregnant, but Jarrod recently bought some wine and I wish I could have some!
Cravings: Spicy foods, bbq potato chips, french fries.
Symptoms:  Heartburn is really the only thing bugging me these days.
Best Moment this week: Taking this week's pictures was fun.  As soon as I lifted my shirt, Gavin ran over and stuck his finger in my belly button.  It was so cute!

Recipe - Baked Ziti

This week's new recipe doesn't have a link.  It was more of an idea I found and we just tried it.  Early this week we bought a rotisserie chicken from Sam's Club (because they are the best!) and used half of it for chicken noodle soup (one of my secrets for the soup Jarrod says I've officially mastered).  But I needed an idea for the rest of the chicken, so I decided to try this baked ziti.  Basically, we just boiled a box of pasta (we used rigatoni - I wish I'd bought penne), then stirred in a jar of sauce, some shredded mozzarella, and the chicken, topped it with more cheese, and baked it at 350 for about a half hour.  It was very yummy!  I think we're going to try it again sometime with ground beef, seasoned like we would to make meatballs.  Quick and easy!

We thought we left New York!

It seems we moved to Arkansas just in time for all kinds of record to be broken!  I was worried we wouldn't see much snow here, and was elated to just see flurries in the air on Christmas day.  Little did I know that just a month and half later, I'd see as much snow as we saw in New York!

Last week, we got hit with a storm.  It was pretty bad because of the ice that came first, and because this area isn't equipped to deal with that kind of weather.  So, even four days later, our roads were solid ice and driving was awful in most areas.  Gavin and I were stuck in the house from Tuesday until Friday morning, and then we got even more snow Friday night.  After a few days to recover from that, we got hit again - BIG TIME!

Tuesday night, we went to bed after hearing on the news that some snow would start around 3am, with the heaviest snow coming around lunchtime, and we'd get about 3-5 inches total.  Well - they were wrong!  We woke up in the morning to about a foot of snow, and after 12 hours of snowing, our city ended up with an official 20 inches of snow!  It was so bad that even Jarrod's office closed.  We got to play out in the snow a couple times on Wednesday, but Thursday, we broke another record - we woke up and it was -16 degrees...without the windchill! So, needless to say, there was no playing in the snow on Thursday, but Jarrod did get to stay home with us again.  It was a nice couple of days!  We were quite lazy, just spent some time with Gavin and did some cleaning.  Now, Jarrod is back to work and it's time for us to get back to a routine.  Here are some pics I took on Wednesday.  The quality isn't the greatest - it was snowing still and I was trying to take some of them through the window or in the garage.  And the color pretty much sucks...  Oh well!

On another note - I am planning to venture out after Gavin's nap today and take my memory card in to the camera shop to see if they can recover my photos.  I'm still sick to my stomach thinking about losing them.

15 Weeks!

Well, it looks like I'll be taking my memory card into a local store to see if they can recover my photos and then I'll just have to backtrack and post the pictures that I lost.  So today, I'm going to post my pregnancy update without the belly shot.  If I get my photos back (fingers crossed) I'll come back and add the photo.

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 15 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby Hamm is the size of a navel orange -
the baby is covered with fine hair called lanugo hair right now.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +8 lbs - I gained a pound last week.  But considering all the
birthday cupcakes I ate, I guess that should be expected.
Maternity Clothes: 90% of the time I'm in maternity clothes.  I still have a few regular shirts that fit ok.
Gender: Unknown....my gut says it's another boy right now though.  Jarrod still says girl.
Gavin changes his mind daily.
Movement: I'm starting to randomly feel little butterflies in my stomach!
Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty good but getting up once or twice to pee is getting old already.
What I miss:  Nothing really right now.  I do love being pregnant!
Cravings: Spicy foods, bbq potato chips, french fries.
Symptoms:  Heartburn is really the only thing bugging me these days.
Best Moment this week: Seeing Jarrod really notice my belly more.  I'm definitely showing and it's fun to see him notice.

:(

Well, I was planning to spend naptime today getting the blog updated and posts scheduled for the week.  I have my 15 week update to share, along with Gavin's first snowman, our fun birthday party from this weekend, and our 'slumber party' from Friday night.  But...I just accidentally deleted all the photos from my memory card.  And I'm so sad!  I think I found a place that will recover them for $25, but I'm still hoping I can figure out a way to do it on my own.  If you know how, will you leave me a comment please!  :(
