7 Months!

Can you believe it?  Riley is 7 months old!  

Riley turned 7 months old yesterday, but we had such a busy weekend, I didn't get around to taking her pictures until today.  At her last check up, which was a couple weeks ago now, she weighed 16lbs 8oz, so I'm guessing she's probably a few ounces more than that right now.  Even though their weights haven't been too different all along, that put Riley in the 75th percentile, which Gavin was NEVER in, so she is a little bigger than he was.  She still has no teeth, and her eyes have changed from blue to a brownish/greenish color.

 She's wearing 6-9 month clothes and size 3 diapers; we're still using Luvs...they've definitely worked the best so far for her.  Last month, I ordered her her first pair of Robeez.  They're really cute and I'll probably end up with more, but she did figure out how to get them off, so I have to watch to make sure we don't lose any.  

Riley's sleep is still so hit-or-miss.  Yesterday, she barely napped at all, and was up twice through the night  (1am and 4am); she also stayed in her crib all night.  The night before that, I think she was up 3 times before 2am, so I put her in bed with us so I could sleep more than an hour stretch.  I know we'll probably end up doing CIO like with did with Gavin, but we're just not there yet.  She takes {usually} two or three naps a day and most of the time I can just lay her down and rub her back for a little while and she drifts off to sleep by herself.

It's unbelievable how quickly she learning things.  She's going to be crawling any day now.  Rolling and scooting are her main methods of transportation right now, but she's up on her knees rocking a lot now and starting to move her hands one at a time.  This past weekend, she also learned how to blow raspberries {which makes feeding time fun!} and is pulling herself up to her knees in her crib.  Oh, and Gavin thinks her fake cough is pretty hilarious.

She's doing great with her eating.  Riley's eating lunch and dinner right now, and we've gone through most of the fruits and vegetables so we are trying new combinations now.  Her favorites right now are sweet potatoes/apples/cinnamon and zucchini/carrots/apples/oatmeal.  The girl can eat almost a whole banana in her mesh feeder, too!  She loves them!  I, on the other  hand, do not like the mess she makes with them!  The mesh feeder is a great invention, but boy is it a mess.  We made the mistake of giving her one at Chickfila this weekend to keep her busy while we ate and it was a disaster. 

Riley is definitely going to be a blankey kid {how do you even spell blankey? blankie? oh well...}  She loves to suck on the tags of the taggie blanket Mimi got her, but she really loves her pink fuzzy blanket Rosi got for her.  We even let her sleep with it now because it makes her so happy.  We took a little road trip yesterday to a state park for a walk and she cried most of the car ride there and back {she still hates the car half of the time} and I kept telling Jarrod we have to start bringing the blanket because I know she probably would have stopped crying and fell asleep had she had it.  

These pictures crack me up, because you can see how her attention span is so short and taking these pictures is getting more and more complicated.  She went from playing with the lens cap...
